From working in real estate, retail and interior design, Barbara Brock knows how to transform a sow's ear into a silk purse. Started in 2001, her company, A Proper Place, initially provided professional organizing, closet design, and home staging services for clients. Today the company specializes in home staging and provides the other two services as part of the home selling process. Courteousness, graciousness and flexibility are key characteristics of the company.
She is considered to be an excellent communicator, approachable leader and dedicated to the highest standards of conduct and performance. Her team of staging designers transforms a sellers very personalized home into a buyer-ready product on the market. How you live in your home and how you sell your home are two different visual presentations.
Born and raised in Dallas, Texas, she graduated from SMU with a BS in Mathematics. She is past owner of B. Brock's, a pine furniture store, and moved to New York City in 1989. She graduated from Parsons School of Interior Design and worked with Mark Hampton and Harry Schnaper Inc.
In 1997, she developed an addressing system and sold it to At-A-Glance. She is in the process of obtaining patents on other organizational products.
